Hist: Gegr. 1942 als "Büchereischule Stuttgart", ab 1965 "Süddeutsches Bibliothekar-Lehrinstitut". 1971 Fachhochschule f. Bibliothekswesen. Seit 1984 neben dem Studiengang Öffentliche Bibliotheken auch Studiengang Wissenschaftliche Bibliotheken; seit 1988 Studiengang Informationsmanagement (vormals Dokumentation).
Studiengänge: Bibliotheks- u. Informationsmanagement: Bachelor 6 Sem., Master mit dem Wahlmodul Musikinformationsmanagement 4 Sem.
